Click on the most common questions about the Air Conditioner Cover.
1) What is the Innerflow® Air Conditioner Cover?
The System is what makes our air conditioner cover unlike any other air conditioner cover in the marketplace. We've designed and engineered a highly durable molded PVC vent, which is attached to our custom-made air conditioner covers, allowing air to circulate freely.
2) How does the Innerflow® Air Conditioner Cover work?
Through the use of a vent, the Patented System allows warm air and damaging moisture to escape from inside the air conditioner and then replaces it with cool outside air. The unique design of the vent allows for free movement of air while blocking rain, snow and airborne particles from entering. In the fall, winter and early spring, a sunny day can significantly raise the temperature inside a covered air conditioner unit as the air conditioner cover absorbs the sun's radiant heat. This temperature variance between the interior of the covered air conditioner and the outside ambient temperature generates a condensation build-up. Unlike conventional air conditioner covers that trap this warm condensing air, the System allows air to flow out of the covered air conditioner, taking with it stale air and moisture. In addition, the System effectively maintains a balance between the relative humidity inside and outside of the air conditioner cover, thereby reducing and even preventing the formation of rust.
3) Is the Innerflow® Air Conditioner Cover approved by the air conditioner manufacturers?
Yes. All the manufacturers that we represent have tested the Patented Air Conditioner Cover and found that inside the covered air conditioner was 100% dry. The Air Conditioner Cover is their only recommended air conditioner cover.
4) Why should I use the Innerflow® air conditioner cover on my air conditioner during the off season?
Throughout North America, a vast majority of people are covering their outdoor air conditioner units for a variety of reasons. Typically, air conditioners are covered during the fall, winter and early spring to protect them from the elements and environment. Air conditioner units must be protected from acid rain, harsh weather, ultraviolet rays, flying debris, ice, snow, salty sea air, blowing leaves, dust, etc. The Air Conditioner Covers are made only from the highest quality materials, carrying with it strict standards. Superior features such as UV protection, anti-cold crack, fire retardant, mildew and fungus free gives our air conditioner covers complete weather protection.
5) Is it safe to cover my air conditioner?
Only with the Air Conditioner Cover is it safe to cover your air conditioner. Unlike conventional air conditioner covers that trap warm condensing air, the System allows air to flow out of the covered air conditioner, taking with it stale air and moisture. In addition, the System effectively maintains a balance between the relative humidity inside and outside of the air conditioner cover, thereby reducing, and even preventing the formation of rust.
6) Does acid rain or UV (ultraviolet) rays affect my air conditioner?
Your equipment is designed to withstand all possible weather conditions including ultraviolet rays, but over time the sun's powerful UV rays will begin to fade the cabinet. One of the best ways to keep the cabinet looking like new is to use the Air Conditioner Cover during the off season.
7) If I live near the water, especially the ocean, should I be more concerned with the care of my equipment?
Living near the water adds for more damaging effects i.e. sand and salt. Special care is required for outdoor condensing units near ocean environments. Ocean mist and sea breezes carry sand and especially salt, which is very corrosive to most metals. Most air conditioner units are manufactured with aluminum fins that are especially susceptible to salt and can deteriorate quickly. The most important step in prolonging the life of the equipment is proper maintenance and using an Air Conditioner Cover during the off season.
8) What material is used to manufacture the Innerflow® Air Conditioner Cover?
The Air Conditioner Covers are made only from the highest quality materials, carrying with it strict standards. Superior features such as UV protection, anti-cold crack, fire retardant, mildew and fungus free gives our air conditioner cover complete weather protection.
9) How do I clean and care for my Innerflow® Air Conditioner Cover?
Simply wipe your Air Conditioner Cover off and put it away. As an added measure, wipe a little vinyl cleaner on it. Make sure the air conditioner cover is dry before storing. Do not machine wash or dry clean.
10) What is the warranty on your Innerflow® Air Conditioner Covers?
Our confidence in the quality of our products allows us to offer one of the best warranties in the business. All our air conditioner covers come with a ten year warranty.
11) I bought an Innerflow® Air Conditioner Cover. It is an excellent air conditioner cover, but, I saw a warning sign that it is not to be used when operating. Can I operate my air conditioner with the cover on?
The Air Conditioner Cover will protect the air conditioner during the off season but must be removed prior to operating the air conditioner. The Air Conditioner Cover restricts the required air flow around the air conditioner during operation.
12) How can I order an Innerflow® Air Conditioner Cover? Do I need to know the make, model number or dimensions?
Simply by calling your heating and air conditioning dealer and asking for the Air Conditioner Cover. In order to determine the exact fit you will need to know the make and model number of your air conditioner, which should be on your invoice, the operating documents or if you do not have these there is a metal plate or sticker on the back of your outdoor air conditioner unit with the model number on it.
